3 EASY Ways to Improve Your Facebook Page

When’s the last time you gave your Facebook business page some love? I know a lot of you probably stopped caring about your page when it stopped showing up organically in your followers news feed. To be honest, I don’t blame you! Watching engagement plummet overnight was incredibly frustrating.

Now I’m not going to get into why facebook is possibly the easiest way to reach new customers because that is a whole other conversation. However I do want to share 3 super easy ways to give your page some new life!

1. UPDATE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE

The first and most important step is to make sure your profile picture represents your business or brand. 9 times out of 10 this picture should simply be your logo. There’s no need to overcomplicate this. Think about it, every time you post as your page you want followers and potential customers to see your branding. Though small, that little picture can be incredibly effective at creating brand recognition.

2. CREATE AN ATTRACTIVE COVER PHOTO

Once someone decides your page is worth visiting, the FIRST thing every single one of them is going to see is your cover photo. There’s a ton of cool tricks your business can use to leverage this space but for the sake of simplicity here is a pro tip:

Make sure your cover photo looks great on a desktop AND mobile. What does this mean? Well Facebook displays your cover in different dimensions depending on what type of device you are using.

When optimizing your cover photo for the right dimensions remember this:Your photo will show as 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall on desktops and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall for mobile.  You can also use canva to design and create the perfect cover photo!

3. JUST START POSTING AGAIN

Want to remind customers you exist? Prove to them your business didn’t die with your facebook page a few years ago. The worst case scenario is that your post will show up to approximately 6% of the people who follow your page. That being said, the better content you post, the more facebook shares your content. By posting more, you’ll learn what works and what doesn’t. It’s really a win win!

Or if you just don’t have time, shoot us a message and we ‘d be more than happy to get your page looking fresh in no time!
